KEEP IT TRUE – April 2026 | Line-up UpdateUnfortunately, Black Sword Thunder Attack will not be able to perform at KEEP IT TRUE FestivalApril 2026 due to private and health-related reasons. This news hits us hard, as the booking took a very long time to finalize and a lot of work and dedication went into making this appearance possible. We are genuinely disappointed, but we fully understand the situation and wish the band all the best.However, we are proud to announce an outstanding replacement: Creatures from Brazil!Their second album “II”, released on High Roller Records , is an absolute monster and has been receiving fantastic reactions worldwide.With this booking, Creatures become the first Brazilian band ever to grace the Keep It True stage, marking another special chapter in KIT history. Hello KEEP IT TRUE Festival fans,in between the years its always time to reflect on the past and so I thought I give you a little story from almost ancient times. 35 years ago Metal Church played in my hometown in Gemünden in the so called "Scherenberghalle" as part of the "Easter Metal Meeting" with Saxon, Toranaga and Chroming Rose, who replaced Celtic Frost, who had to cancel on short notice. I was 20 years old, totally into US Metal and NWOBHM and super excited for the show. I was able to meet the band right before the show to get signatures from all of them. It was my second time seeing them after supporting Metallica still with the late David Wayne and my first time with Mike Howe. The show was fantastic and on the final song original drummer Kirk Arrington collapsed and fell from his drum stool and was rushed to a hospital. It turned out it was because of his Diabetes. But ending the show like this was shocking for all the fans. But like always he gave everything and even more. Too bad two people on my signed album already passed away (Mike and Kirk), but I am so happy about that new line up of Kurdt Vanderhoof and that they will play at our very special KIT next year, especially having legends like David Ellefson and Ken Mary will make it as powerful like back in the day. Ho Ho Ho, its christmas time again. No matter if you believe in the religious part of it or not, its always some days to lay low and reflect. I am beyond grateful for all the overwhelming support KEEP IT TRUE Festival gets and it gets more every year of its existance. After and during Covid there was a certain time when I was doubtful about the future of it but we all went through it hand in hand. Getting all these rare bands and performances is financially risky and of course we always need a big crowd to make it possible. With your help we now could do it since over 22 years and that is a legacy I will be superproud of till the end of my days. After the end of KIT RISING in the Posthalle in Würzburg (which seems to be now extended to 5 more years, but the real future of it is still very unclear) I was thinking of either skip it at all or fill the gap. Then out of the blue I got the chance to book the one and only Savatage. To me this was a once in a lifetime chance and I think with Eventzentrum Strohofer Geiselwind we found the perfect location for that. Once I finalize the saturday headliner for KIT Legions we will present the location much more and all its beauty. Also very soon we will be hopefully able to present you infos on the shuttle service there for all who come by train and have no car. It makes me really happy that Legions is also already selling so well as its the biggest financial risk we ever took. To me the line up of bands is unreal and I am shocked myself when I look at my own flyer to be honest. But thats what KIT is all about: Fullfilling musicals dreams, support the scene and give people a great time. To me its very important that KIT is global, by fans and bands.
